The Canaan Dog is a medium-sized dog with a balanced body shape. They have a straight and dense coat in gold, red, white, cream, liver (reddish-brown), tan, and black. The Canaan dog sheds frequently and requires weekly brushing.
Behavior & Disposition
The Canaan Dog is known for its docile, alert, protective, and patient character. They tend to play well with older children and other dogs. However, adult supervision is recommended when playing with younger children.
Activity Level
The Canaan Dog has a moderate activity level and can become overweight. For optimal health, the Canaan Dog should be carefully monitored for calorie consumption and should have daily walks.
Training
The Canaan Dog is a sensitive and intelligent dog, and it is easy to train this breed. However, compulsive training methods are not effective. Early socialization and obedience training are recommended.
